E-vite blues

E-vite blues

Did anybody else watch it last night?

2003-02-18 - 5:06 p.m.

I'm very surprised to see that nobody has written anything about Joe Millionaire.

Here's my opinion - my party was fun! Ross, his roommate Mike, Blair and James came by. We had a blast making fun of everything that happened. I was quite disappointed in the ending. I wanted tears, and yelling, and all sorts of drama. Instead, it turned out to be all lovey dovey crap. BORING!!! But that's all I'm going to say on the topic for the time being.

I'm all sad today, because Mike just left town. We had an absolutely amazing weekend. I'm not going to go into the details, but let's just say that I'm absolutely exhausted! So much so that I'm not even going to kickboxing today. I had originally planned to, but there's no way I could hack it. In fact, I'm surprised I'm still here. I'm surprised I came into work at all. I had a meeting at 3, so I figured I should try to come to it, since there was nothing but sleepiness stopping me.

I suppose I can talk about a few of the things we did. We went out for a really romantic Valentine's Day dinner. He bought me Godiva dark chocolate covered strawberries. We drank lots of wine (probably 2 1/2 bottles). We built a fire and listened to some jazz and classical music while enjoying it. We went out to Crossroads at Stone Mountain and bought some hand dipped candy and hand blown glass. We went out to Jellyrolls and enjoyed the dueling piano action. We went to my research group's party and he got to meet everybody. We also spent a bunch of time just enjoying eachother's company.

The most remarkable thing is that Dakota just adores him. Now, Dakota likes just about everybody, but she's a bit bipolar. She has turned on just about everybody who has spent any considerable amount of time with her (any by considerable, I mean anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours). But he all slept in her spot, took up her space on the couch, etc., and she just didn't seem to mind. She'd curl up by his feet, or lie on the crack between our bodies, or whatever. She also followed him around at points, and crawled around on his stuff. I've never seen her take to somebody so well.

The thing that sucks is that it never gets easier to say goodbye. In fact, it just gets more and more difficult each time. The first time, the day after Joe and Brook's wedding, we spent about an hour out by my car trying to say goodbye. The second time, when he was leaving Atlanta, I cried. This time, there was too much anticipation about a potential delay/bump off because of the snow, that it was just SO disappointing when he made it onto his scheduled flight. In fact, I miss him already.

But I guess I'm going to go home and try to get some sleep. I'm SO sleepy!!!!
