I have lots to update today. I may not get to it all, and some of it might go to livejournal. Here will be only a small portion of what I have to say.

First of all, yes, Joecook does remember quite correctly. More biological detail than I was willing to get into. In fact, it's even more complicated than that. The human body is a very, very complicated bioreactor. I mean, hell, it can make babies!

Note on lactic acid - drinking alcohol also causes lactic acid build up in the muscles. See, because when you drink the amount of oxygen going to your muscles decreases because of the high blood alcohol content. So if you ever work out a lot (say go hiking or for a 3 hour powerwalk) and then proceed to drink heavily, you may wind up regretting it a whole lot in the morning. It's happened to me twice where I couldn't even walk the next day for at least an hour. (note, I had a pre-med student explain it to me back at Stevenss, because I noticed I was always sore after I drank).

You've all heard me sing the praises of my friends Ross and James, my two favorite boys in my program. Well, I have also become pretty tight with their girlfriends, Lauren and Blair. I went out with the ladies last night, it's the first time the 3 of us ever played together without the boys or other folks being around. We had a blast. They're such great girls! They're both bright, sweet, fun, 'cool' (by the anybody's standards, not just engineering standards), and interesting. The three of us just had so much fun together :-).

We went to see How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. It was really good. I figured I'd like it, but I didn't think I'd like it quite that much. It's actually much better thought out than the previews seem to imply. I was pleasantly surprised. Men, take your ladies to see this one :-P. If nothing else, Kate Hudson is a nice piece of eye candy :-P.
