Holy Focus, Batman

2003-04-10 - 2:36 p.m.

I just locked into a project from 9 a.m. until about 2 p.m. without a break except to pee and get coffee (which Beckie dragged me out to do).

I was invited out to lunch twice, declined both times. I had packed lunch, and didn't grab it.

At 2, when I was all done, my tummy let out this big grumble. Man, I was hungry (currently eating). I'm also moving at about 0.98c due to the caffeine (which didn't kick in until I broke the focus).

Of course, the focus I felt was not for my research - wouldn't that have been convenient? It was for a T shirt for the AChEGS fall picnic. It came out spectacular, if I might say so myself :-). I learned how to use Adobe Illustrator (which is a REALLY fun program!), which is nice. Now I want to go out and buy my own copy. I wonder how much that would set me back. Maybe I can just borrow this one and burn a copy. I don't have a cd burner on my school computer, though, I guess I could bring in my laptop and install it on there. I don't have a burner on that, though, so I couldn't put it onto my desktop. But Ross has a burner on his computer. Maybe I can talk him into burning it for me.

The strangest thing about the whole experience is that I actually used the manual. And you know what? It was REALLY helpful! I don't think I have ever used a software manual in my life. I usually resort to the help files, which are always less than helpful.

So now, of course, I want to say screw it to the whole engineering thing and become a graphic artist. You think my boss would mind? (Yeah, I think he'd try to talk me out of it. I am a pretty good engineer, afterall...)
