It's a pretty big step

What a tiring weekend. I had a fantastic time at Heather's bridal shower and bachelorette party. Her friends pretty much rule. I was really nervous, because I know how girls can be. I was afraid that they wouldn't accept me into their little group because I'm not pretty enough, or too fat or something stupid like that (stranger things have happened). But they were totally cool. In fact, a lot of them are very similar to me in one way or another. I bonded with almost every one of them. Lots of fun stories came out of that night, so ask me and I'll share :-P. Yesterday was a milestone moment of my relationship. Mike and I did the family thing for Easter. We went to his house for brunch and then to my house for dinner. Brunch was really nice. Have I mentioned that I really, really like the Karles? They're just about the most pleasant people to spend time with. Mike's mom is probably the second coolest mom I know (my own being the coolest), which says a lot, because lots of my friends have really cool moms. They're good at making me feel really welcome in their home, which is nice. I have NEVER brought a boy home for a holiday, so it was a really big deal to invite Mike over for Easter dinner. Of course, I didn't make him think it was a big deal to anybody - didn't want to make him nervous (though, I don't see how my mom and Omar could make anybody nervous). Though, Omar did mention that it was the first Easter Mike was joining us for (well, it's the first Easter since I have known him, but whatever) and Mommy said she hoped it would be his last. Yeah, the family really likes this one a LOT. Mommy brought out the fine china, and even made him an Easter basket of chocolate and cash (she makes all of us baskets with chocolate and cash). The other really cool thing about the weekend is that I got to see a few people on Friday night. I wasn't expecting to do anything with anybody, and it sort of just got thrown together at the last second, but I'm glad I did it. Sure, it meant less sleep for me, but since I was already getting no sleep, what was the difference? Everybody looked happy and healthy, and Kristin is looking really thin. It was pretty funny - Joe told me that Brook would beat me up and steal my cool necklace if she was around, but I don't buy that one at all :-P. First of all, Brook isn't the type to beat somebody up. I just don't see it happening. Secondly, I kickbox and lift weights, I think I could take her. This is not to say that Brook is weak, just that I am super-tough. Joe argued with me about that, saying that I wouldn't stand a chance. It was pretty damn funny :-P. Personally, I think he just likes the idea of Brook rolling around with another woman and is looking for just about any takers ;-). Well, I should get back to work now. Change that, I should get to work now, since I haven't done a damn thing besides go to class yet. Sigh....
