Love is in the air :-)

There was yet another engagement annuonced recently! My friend Padmini has gotten engaged to a man who she just met, but who she fell madly in love with the second they met. Well, they did talk on the phone several times. It was sort of an arrangement by their parents (both sets live in India) who are all friends. She never met this man before, but they talked a whole lot and became really close. When she went up to NY to see him, she figured they would meet and things would progress slowly from there. But nope, she returned with a diamond on her finger. CRAZY!

Then Chris Moore tells me he's about to have a baby. Also crazy!

I wonder who's next :-P.

That reminds me, I need to ask Beckie if she likes that boy. I want to get that out of the way today!

Unrelated, I got my TA assignment. The good news is that I'm TAing thermo (which is what I wanted to TA). The bad news is that I'll be the only one, and it's not an easy class to TA for. Luckily my advisor is the professor, so he'll be very aware of how much TA work I'll have to do. But to do that, do research and propose my thesis all in the same summer? I'm going to have a pretty full plate. Don't expect me to take 2 weeks off to visit NJ this summer. Sorry!

I had something else to say....

Oh yeah, so I'm still working on the paper. Use of static and dynamic laser light scattering techniques to study properties of micellar suspensions. Woo hoo!!! Due by 10:00 a.m. tomorrow. I'm actually almost done. But I had a meeting for the last 2 hours, so I'm trying to get back into the groove. It'll take a few more minutes, but I'll get there.
