Mother's Day is coming up

Mother's Day is this weekend, don't forget to get mom a present :-)

I actually was going have something sent from ftd.com. She's not really into flowers, but she's really into cookies and candy and stuff. So I figured I'd go that route. But everything was just SO expensive! Not that I'm cheap or that my mommy is not worth it, but I figured I'd get a bit more bang for my buck, you know?

I was going to go with the tin of Mrs. Fields cookies. But the tin has 12 cookies and it's $22, and $12 to ship it the cheap way! So now I'm thinking that I'll go to the store, buy the ingredients to make chocolate chip cookies, and make mommy a batch and mail them to her. It shouldn't cost me more than $20 total, including shipping. I think I have most of the ingredients. Just need a stick of butter, brown sugar and baking soda, oh, and the chocolate chips :-). This recipe also calls for espresso powder (it's the Neiman Marcus recipe - free from the website :-P), but I might omit that. I don't know yet. I'll make the final decisions when I'm at the super market tonight.

The real push - I've been CRAVING some fresh baked chocolate chip cookies lately :-P. So I suppose I'll have to try one, just to make sure they're all right ;-).
