And the Grammy goes to....

All hail the Academy Awards! I just LOVE these things :-). This Sunday is Grammy night. Yay for Grammy night! I don't know which I like better, the Grammys or the Oscars. This year (well, as with every other year), I'm probably more qualified to talk about the Grammys, since I am a music junkie and all. My prediction: Norah Jones is going to make a killing. Out of her 6 nominations, I predict she will win at least 5: Record of the year with "Don't Know Why", Album of the year with "Come Away with Me", Song of the year with "Don't Know Why", Best New Artist, and Best pop vocal album with "Come Away with Me". She might lose out to Sheryl Crow for Best Female Pop Artist, but maybe not. If you don't own "Come Away With Me" yet, then honestly, what are you waiting for? It is the best cd purchase I made all year (and those of you who have seen my cd collection know I tend to buy a lot). As for all other categories, I have a few predictions. We'll see how right I am come Sunday night: Best Male Pop Vocal Performance: John Mayer with "Your Body is Wonderland" (one of the best sex songs I've heard in a while). Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal: Dave Matthews Band's "Where are you Going" or No Doubt's "Hey Baby" Best Pop Collaboration: "The Game of Love" by Michelle Branch and Carlos Santana Best Female Rock Performance: Sheryl Crow with "Steve McQueen" (though I wouldn't be surprised if Avril Lavigne "Sk8r Boy" or Melissa Ethridge "The Weakness in Me" took that one). Best Hard Rock Performance: P.O.D. with "Youth of a Nation" Best Rock Song: "Hero", even though I HATE that stupid song.... I can't comment much on anything else, because, sadly, all I know anymore is pop music. I can't even fake dance music (though I'd like to see No Doubt win best dance recording with "Hella Good"). Even more sad, I could hardly comment on the rock and hard rock categories. Either way, I'm looking forward to watching it on Sunday :-).
